The mission of the Paradise Baptist Church Ministry, Recreation and Business Center (MRBC) is to nurture and develop the next generation of disciples by providing a safe outlet where members of the community can come together and participate in holistic activities that will uplift them spiritually, physically, socially, educationally and economically.

Paradise MRBC Conference Room

The MRBC is an extension of the vision the Lord gave to Pastor C.W. Johnson for the Paradise Baptist Church, and that was for Paradise to be the “salvation of Oakland.” We have been an active and vibrant element of the Columbian Gardens neighborhood for more than 50 years and while the Worship Center was primarily designed to meet the needs of our members, the MRBC is externally focused and therefore designed to meet the needs of our community. The MRBC is a space dedicated for this work. Our job is to lay the foundation and create the space for the Lord to do His work, as described in 1 Corinthians 3:6: “I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth.”

The MRBC is a safe haven for the community where individuals and families can take part in diverse programs, and receive support, instruction and guidance in a positive Christian atmosphere.

Paradise MRBC - Banquet

Gym used as Banquet Room

The Ministry, Recreation and Business Center features a full kitchen, snack bar, arcade, gym (which may also be used as a banquet facility), bookstore, fellowship hall, conference room, youth room, classrooms, computer lab and administrative offices. It is designed to further expand the stewardship of the Paradise Baptist Church from its members to the surrounding community, and to nurture and develop the next generation of disciples. The Paradise Baptist Church is laying the ground work for supernatural church growth just as Jesus instructed His disciples in Luke 5:4-6.
