What the bible says about The Lord’s tithe?

THE FIRST MENTIONING OF THE TITHE

And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” He gave him a tenth of all. — Genesis 14:20 (NASB)

THE PROMISE TO GIVE THE TITHE

Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will keep me on this journey that I take, and will give me food to eat and garments to wear, and I return to my father’s house in safety, then the LORD will be my God. This stone, which I have set up as a pillar, will be God’s house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You. — Genesis 28:20-22 (NASB)

THE NATURE OF THE TITHE

It is holy to the LORD. — Leviticus 27:30b (NASB)

THE PRIORITY of THE TITHE

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others. — Matthew 23:23 (TLB)

THE LAST MENTIONING OF THE TITHE

Now observe how great this man was to whom Abraham, the patriarch, gave a tenth of the choicest spoils.

But the one whose genealogy is not traced from them collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed the one who had the promises. But without any dispute the lesser is blessed by the greater. — Hebrews 7:4, 6-7 (TLB)

THE OWNER OF THE TITHE

Thus all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD ’ S; it is holy to the LORD. — Leviticus 27:30a (NASB)

THE robbery of THE TITHE

Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, ‘How have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, the whole nation of you! — Malichi 3:8-9 (NASB)

THE PURPOSES OF THE TITHE

#1 — You shall eat in the presence of the LORD your God, at the place where He chooses to establish His name, the tithe of your grain, your new wine, your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and your flock, so that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always. — Deuteronomy 14:23b (TLB)

#2 — You may eat it anywhere, you and your households, for it is your compensation in return for your service in the tent of meeting. — Numbers 18:31 (NASB)

Moreover he commanded the people that dwelt in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might be encouraged in the law of the Lord. — 2 Chronicles 31:4 (KJV)

Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? — 1 Corinthians 9:13 KJV

#3 — Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. — Malichi 3:10 (KJV)
