REASSEMBLY AND RETURN TO CHURCH CRITERIA FOR SICK AND COVID-19 POSITIVE MEMBERS

On March 19, 2020, the State Public Health Officer and Director of the California De- partment of Public Health issued an order requiring most Californians to stay at home to disrupt the spread of COVID-19 among the population. As stay at home orders are modified, we wish to provide guidelines for worship at Paradise Baptist Church.

Worship is an essential part of the Christian life and we want to ensure that all possi- ble steps are taken so that our members have the ability to worship safely. In addition to the measures that have been implemented for conducting business at the church, the following criteria are designed to give guidance according to the current Federal, State and County orders of the protocol for worshipping at Paradise. (Resource links are provided)

Our prevention practices include:

• physical distancing to the maximum extent possible,

• use of face coverings by congregants/visitors,

• frequent handwashing and regular cleaning and disinfection,

• training workers and volunteers on these and other elements of COVID-19 prevention, and posting applicable signage.

For the safety of yourself and others, we are implementing the protocol below.

Members are requested NOT to attend worship if they are experiencing any of the fol- lowing signs and symptoms:

• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

• Cough

• Fever (>100.4), chills, or repeated shaking/shivering

• Feeling unusually weak or fatigued

• Congestion or runny nose

• Diarrhea

• Muscle or body aches/pains

• Headache

• Sore throat

• New loss of taste or smell

• Nausea or vomiting

If a member becomes sick during worship with any of the above symptoms, the mem- ber should immediately leave the premises.

SICK MEMBER PROTOCOL

• All sick members (not only those diagnosed with COVID-19) are requested to stay

home (Isolate).

• Member is advised to seek medical care and monitor symptoms.

• Member is advised to be tested for COVID-19.

• If the sick member receives a COVID-19 diagnosis the member will follow the re- turn-to-worship protocol listed below.

RETURN TO WORSHIP CRITERIA: COVID-19 NEGATIVE

• If you test negative for the virus but have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive, you should not return to church until 5 full days after that contact.

• A negative COVID-19 test from a specimen collected on the fifth day or later is obtained

• If fever, cough, or cold symptoms exist, remain home and minimize contact with others.

• Return to church campus after being without symptoms for 72 hours.

RETURN TO WORSHIP CRITERIA: COVID-19 POSITIVE

Members may return to worship if they meet all the following criteria:

• At least Five (5) days have passed since signs and symptoms began for sympto- matic members, or five (5) days have passed since the date of the positive COVID19 test for asymptomatic members.

• Fever free for twenty-four (24) hours, without the use of fever reducing medication.

• Significantly improved symptoms.

• If a local or state health official issues an order to isolate or quarantine for sick/ exposed persons, the member will not return to worship until the period of isolation or quarantine is completed, or the order is lifted. If no period was specified, the quarantine period will be at least five (5) days.

Our return to worship requirements are in alignment with current Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Alameda County Department of Public Health (ACPHD) guidelines.

We appreciate your compliance with State and local requirements, including the use of mandatory facial covering, physical distancing, completing daily health checks, and staying home when sick.
